Agent Actions: Reviewing and Approving Actions

Agents and Chats in CentrlX can propose Actions — changes to your CENTRL data, such as updating a field or status, creating a new Issue, or creating and publishing a Clarification. Because Actions modify your platform data, an Agent or Chat never makes a change automatically: every Action requires your explicit approval first. This article explains where to find Actions when working with an Agent or a Chat, and how to review and approve or deny an Action request.

This article will cover the following topics:

What are Actions?

Actions let Agents and Chats modify platform data, create records, or send notifications on your behalf. When an Agent or Chat determines that completing your request requires making a change — for example, updating a field, creating an Issue, or creating and publishing a Clarification — it proposes the change as an Action. Nothing changes in your environment until you Allow the Action.

Available Actions

You can learn more about Actions directly from an Agent's details page.

  1. Navigate to the CentrlX module and open an Agent.
  2. On the Agent's details page, locate the new Actions section. It explains that Actions let agents modify platform data, create records, or send notifications.
  3. Click Learn About Actions to open this article for more detail.

Reviewing and Approving an Action Request

When an Agent or Chat determines an Action is needed, it does not make the change automatically. Instead, the Action appears in the conversation as a card requesting your approval.

Each Action request includes:

  • Action text describing what the agent wants to do, for example, Allow me to update the AUM for Pomona Capital to $25?
  • A Details button. Clicking it shows the specific fields, records, or values that will change.
  • Allow and Deny options. Allow is the primary action; Deny appears as a link.

To respond to an Action request:

  1. Read the action text in the card to understand what the agent is proposing.
  2. Click Details to review exactly what will change before you decide.
  3. Click Allow to approve the Action and let the agent proceed, or click Deny to reject it.

Note: Denying an Action does not end the conversation. The agent will acknowledge your response and may continue the conversation or propose an alternative.

What kinds of changes can an Action make?

Actions can update platform data such as fields and statuses, create a new Issue, or create and publish a Clarification.

What happens if I click Deny?

The agent will not make the proposed change. It will acknowledge your response and may continue the conversation or propose an alternative approach.
